Generate Images on ChatGPT

ChatGPT’s GPT Image 1 is an image generation tool that produces realistic, high quality tools. You can try the image generation tool for free, with limits. This article shows how to make the most out of the image generation tool. You can also use the legacy DALL-E 3 model to generate image.

Steps

Generating an Image

1. 

   Open ChatGPT. On a desktop computer or a mobile device, visit https://chatgpt.com or open the ChatGPT app.
   • If necessary, log in to ChatGPT account.

2. 

   Enable image generation. Click Tools and then click Create an image to enable it.

3. 

   Enter text. Make sure the text is as concise and specific as possible to make the image better.
   • You can attach existing images by clicking the plus button at bottom-left of the textbox.
   • By default, an image has a size of 1024×1024 pixels, but you can specify the size to Wide (1536×1024) or Tall (1024×1536).

4. 

   Click the top-pointed arrow at bottom-right of the textfield and wait for them to generate. This may take a couple of minutes to generate.

5. 

   Finished. The generated image should appear. If you want to edit this image, just follow the next part.

Editing the Generated Image

1. 

   Click on the generated image. This will enlarge the image and show another textfield below the image.

2. 

   Enter text to edit. Make sure the text is as concise and specific as possible to make the edit better.
   • You can attach existing images by clicking the plus button at bottom-left of the textbox.

3. 

   Click the top-pointed arrow at bottom-right of the textfield and wait for them to regenerate. This may take a couple of minutes to regenerate.

4. 

   Finished. The generated editing image should appear.

Using DALL-E 3 Model

1. 

   Go to the GPTs page. Click the GPTs button, which is just above the chats section at the sidebar.

2. 

   Start chat as DALL-E 3. Click DALL-E, which it's in the "By ChatGPT" section. This will open the information modal, click Start chat to start the chat as DALL-E 3.

3. 

   Enter text. Make sure the text is as concise and specific as possible to make the image better.
   • You can attach existing images by clicking the plus button at bottom-left of the textbox.
   • You can add a tag to make the image unique.
   • By default, an image has a size of 1024×1024 pixels, but you can specify the size to Wide (1792×1024) or Tall (1024×1792).

4. 

   Click the top-pointed arrow at bottom-right of the textfield and wait for them to generate. This may take a moment to generate.

5. 

   Finished. The generated images should appear.

Warnings

• The free plan of ChatGPT only generates you up to a few images per day. You can upgrade to ChatGPT Plus or Pro (paid subscriptions) to get extra limits on image generation.
