- Go to https://commons.wikimedia.org. This will be taken to Wikimedia Commons.
- Create an account. Click the "Create account" at top-right corner of the website. Enter a username and password, and, optionally, your email address. Verify it's you by enter the text as show in CAPTCHA image. Click Create your account to create your account.
- If you have an account, log in by typing your username and password, and clicking Log in.
- Click Upload. This will be directed to Upload Wizard.
- Review what can you upload. Once read, click the blue Yes button.
- Works that you created yourself are generally OK to upload to Wikimedia Commons.
- Works downloaded from the internet are generally not OK to upload.
- One exception is old works, usually more than 100 years old or more.
- Select files. Click the Upload media files to share button; this will open the file selection window. In the window, select files.
